A serious incident has occurred in North Dakota, USA, where a 22-year-old mother is accused of killing her two children, a 5-month-old baby and a 3-year-old child. Another of her children survived the attack.

According to authorities, on the morning of August 6, 22-year-old Kaylee Erhart sent a video to her estranged husband.

She was shown holding a gun and threatening to kill herself. In the same video, she held one of the children in her arms and told their father, "Say goodbye to your children."

Just minutes later, according to authorities' preliminary reconstruction, the woman attacked her children with a knife. The 5-month-old baby and the 3-year-old child died from neck wounds, while another child managed to survive.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they were confronted with an extremely serious scene. The 22-year-old woman was inside the apartment holding a knife. She threw the knife on the floor and asked the officers to kill her.

Shortly before the police arrived, Erhart had chased the children's father and their grandmother with a knife, forcing them to leave the apartment.

The couple was in the process of separating. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old's father had previously contacted mental health services, informing them that his daughter had threatened in the past to hurt herself, him and the children.

Following these concerns, the 22-year-old was admitted to a mental health institution for treatment and received medication. Authorities are continuing their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances and motives of this tragic event.
