The head of the EU's foreign policy, Josep Borrell, has reacted to the situation in the north of Kosovo, asking Kosovo to immediately escalate the situation.

 After the EU condemned the violence in Zvecan where Serbian protesters clashed with KFOR forces, Borrell stands by the same line saying that the acts are unacceptable.

"The violent acts committed against KFOR troops, the media, civilians and the police are absolutely unacceptable.

The EU asks the Kosovo authorities and the protesters to immediately and unconditionally stop escalating the situation. We expect the parties to act responsibly and immediately find a political solution through dialogue," Borrell wrote on Twitter.
