On Wednesday, major protests were organized in several cities in Serbia against the regime of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, under the motto "Serbia, wake up".
During the protest, an incident was recorded in the city of Novi Sad, according to Serbian media. Published footage shows that protesters were attacked with pyrotechnics.
The protest in question took place in front of the offices of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which leads the country.
Media in Serbia reported that SNS supporters started firing pyrotechnics, fireworks, as well as throwing bottles and stones at demonstrators.
Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that "a police officer from the Novi Sad Police Department was injured in an attack by protesters on the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party".
Several dozen citizens gathered for a protest in Cacak as well, but the police cordons did not allow them to approach the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party.
Meanwhile, several dozen members and supporters of the SNS with Serbian flags gathered in front of the party's headquarters in this city.
The reason for the protests was the riots that took place on August 12 in the towns of Vrbas and Backa Palanka in Vojvodina, during which clashes broke out between opponents and supporters of the government.
