Vucic: I've been in power for another 18 months, I'm not running

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has ruled out the possibility of another candidacy for the post of president, stating that he does not intend to interfere with the Constitution to secure a third term.

During a press conference in Belgrade with the Austrian Chancellor, Christian Stocker, Vucic emphasized that his current mandate will end within a period of about 18 months.

"I have been part of the political scene for a long time and I will not run again. I have no intention of changing the Constitution for personal purposes. I am not a dictator, as some media in Austria often present to me," he said.

As for the elections in Serbia, Vucic announced that they are expected to be announced earlier than the deadline set by law, but did not offer a concrete date. He clarified that this issue belongs to the relevant institutions.

"I will support people who I think have the potential to move the country forward and I will commit to their success. My next position is not a topic of discussion now." added the Serbian president.

Vucic also commented on the protests and discontent expressed in the country, describing them as a normal part of a democracy, as long as they take place without violence.
