Trump sends large military force to Venezuela

The United States has deployed a large military force near Venezuela, significantly raising the geopolitical temperature in the Caribbean.

According to The Washington Post, US President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of about 16,000 troops near Caracas, accompanied by a fleet of eight warships, a nuclear submarine, a B-52 strategic bomber, F-35 fighter jets, as well as the aircraft carrier "Gerald R. Ford" with its escort.

Sources in Washington report that such a military presence is "a message of strength" to the Venezuelan regime, which has long been in conflict with the US over issues of sanctions, oil, and Russian influence in the region.

Although some American media outlets have reported a "green light" for strikes on Venezuelan military targets, Trump has publicly denied these rumors.

"There is no plan for military intervention," he said, describing the reports as "speculative."

But, as The Washington Post points out, a fleet of this caliber is not positioned by chance.

"A grouping that includes B-52 bombers and the world's largest aircraft carrier is not coming to 'wash up at sea,'" the newspaper writes, hinting at direct pressure on the government of Nicolas Maduro.

The Caribbean region, once a symbol of tropical vacations, is turning into a political chessboard with aircraft carriers instead of stones.

Washington's new move is seen as part of Trump's efforts to reshape American influence in the Western Hemisphere - a clear return to the "Monroe Doctrine" in a 21st-century version.
