For the first time in history, today there will be an Albanian in the office of the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, who is Talat Xhaferi.

The acceptance-handover of office between the outgoing Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and the new Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi will take place at 10:00, while a press conference will be held afterwards.

The technical government led by Talat Xhaferi, with a mandate of 100 days, was voted yesterday in the Assembly of North Macedonia with 65 votes in favor, 3 against and no abstentions.

In his presentation, Xhaferi said that the priority in his mandate will be the implementation of fair and democratic presidential and parliamentary elections, the rule of law and respect for the Constitution, as well as the promotion of strategic relations with the EU, the USA and NATO.

Xhaferi will lead the technical government until the extraordinary elections on May 8.
