Spanish police say they have seized 11 pieces of antique jewelry smuggled out of Ukraine in 2016.
In a statement to the media, it is said that the five people who tried to sell the antique jewelry have been arrested in recent weeks. They are three Spanish citizens and two Ukrainians.
The jewelery is said to be worth €60 million and dates back to between the eighth and fourth centuries BC
Police said the items were part of Ukraine's national heritage. They disappeared after being exhibited between 2009 and 2013 in a museum in Kiev. Among the jewelry are a belt, earrings and necklace.

An ornate gold necklace was seized in 2021 and the rest of the jewelery was seized in recent weeks. Police said investigations are ongoing.
The jewels are being studied by Spain's National Archaeological Museum and the country's Institute of Cultural Heritage.
Interior Ministry attachés in Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, North Macedonia and Ukraine assisted with the investigation, police said.
