Overnight attacks across the Gaza Strip have led to "a large number" of deaths and injuries, according to a statement from Gaza's Hamas-run interior ministry. A number of houses were reportedly hit "without warning".

The ministry also shared a series of images showing collapsed buildings, injured people and emergency service personnel searching through the rubble for bodies after the attacks, the BBC reports.

It is known that there were also explosions near Gaza hospitals. Hospitals include Al-Shifa, the largest medical complex in Gaza, as well as Al-Quds and the Indonesian Hospital.
