A 28-year-old nanny in California, USA, is facing charges of abusing an 8-month-old baby, who allegedly sent photos of the abused girl to a man via social media.

Michelle Hidalgo was initially charged on September 26 with seven counts, including the production and distribution of child pornography.

She reportedly admitted her sick acts, telling investigators it was a one-time mistake.

In the investigation file, it is said that the 28-year-old woman, during the online conversations she had with the unknown man, told him that she would sexually abuse the 8-month-old baby, doing oral sex.

According to local media, what was contained on her phone were very serious acts committed by the 28-year-old.

The 28-year-old was arrested by police following a complaint on the social media platform on September 21 for trafficking in pornographic material with a minor child.

The baby's parents, for their part, said they hired the 28-year-old through Care.com and had never met her before.

Under California law, the 28-year-old nanny faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted and $2.7 million in bail.
