Russia's occupation of Ukraine is lasting more than a year and a half now, and given the slow pace of The Ukrainian counteroffensive, it can be said to continue for a long time.

This is sad news, as hundreds of thousands of newly re-signed boys are dying on both sides of the front, and so are large numbers of civilians trapped in occupied territory.

However, there are still no official exact figures on how many lives this fight has claimed. Some experts claim Russia has lost three times as much as Ukraine.

Ukrainian authorities do not post official figures of losses, but citizens, many of whom have been directly affected or work in funeral agencies and hospitals, say the number of Ukrainians killed since the war began is about 90,<>.
