US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned Iran against retaliating for US attacks on Iranian nuclear plants, saying such an action would be "the worst mistake they have ever made".
Rubio, who also serves as national security adviser, made the comments on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo."
He says the offer of diplomacy with Iran is still open and that regime change is "not the goal" of the United States.
"If Iran retaliates, it will be the biggest mistake they've ever made," Rubio said in an interview on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures."
Rubio underlined that the United States remains open to dialogue with Tehran: "Our proposal for talks remains valid."
His statement comes at a time of high tensions in the Middle East, following massive US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
