The retorts on social networks between the president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, and the famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio do not stop.

Bolsonaro has asked the American actor, a critic of his government, to "shut up."

The far-right leader's reaction comes after DiCaprio called on Brazilian voters to vote against Bolsonaro's re-election as President.

"DiCaprio should know that the WTO president herself said that, without Brazilian agribusiness, the world would starve to death. "So it's good for DiCaprio to keep his mouth shut instead of talking nonsense," said Bolsonaro.

The conflict between DiCaprio and Bolsonaro dates back to 2019, when a massive fire engulfed the Amazon rainforest.

Bolsonaro accused the Hollywood star of financing the fires in Brazil, an accusation the actor denied.

On Twitter, DiCaprio is followed by 19.6 million people, while Bolsonaro's official website is followed by 7.8 million people.
