Why is there no more "Bayraktar" drone in the sky over Ukraine?
"Bayraktar TB2" drone of the Ukrainian army

The Turkish-made drones "Bayraktar TB2" achieved great popularity during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, being considered as a miracle weapon, however today on the war front they have almost disappeared.

Reports of how the "Bayraktar" drones hit tanks, armored vehicles and enemy military targets with high precision made them to be called the future of war, and Ukrainian soldiers even dedicated a song to them.

The whole world rushed to order drones from Turkey, including Albania and Kosovo, which has already managed to purchase an undisclosed number of drones.

But what happened to these drones, why don't we see them in war anymore?

Most of the "Bayraktar" drones have been destroyed by Russian anti-aircraft systems. Ukraine had a fleet of about 50 drones of the "TB2" model, of which there are now very few left.

Meanwhile, the Russian military claims to have shot down at least 100 Bayraktar drones.

These drones work well on the battlefield, as long as they are not facing sophisticated air defense systems. They fly low and not at high speed, making them targets for a variety of defense systems.

Now, a small number of "Bayraktar" drones that remain at the disposal of the Ukrainian army are mainly used for reconnaissance missions.

Another type of drone is already dominating the battlefield, and is used by both the Russians and the Ukrainians with high efficiency. It is the kamikaze-type, single-use, smaller and much cheaper drone.
