The Democratic League of Kosovo and the Democratic Party of Kosovo have confirmed that the leaders of these two political forces in Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku and Memli Krasniqi, have been taken under close protection by the Kosovo Police.

The political spokesperson of LDK, Sibel Halimi, told the media that the news is true, but did not provide more details about the case in question.

"For all other information, please contact the Kosovo police", Halimi said briefly.

Even the Director for Communication in the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Valmir Klaiqi, has confirmed that Krasniqi has been taken under close protection by the law enforcement agencies.

"Yes, on the recommendation of the General Directorate of the Kosovo Police, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, has been offered a team of the close protection unit of the police", stressed Klaiqi.

In January of this year, the chairman of the LDK and several deputies of this party were threatened. The Kosovo police have already confirmed that they are handling the case.
