The spokesperson of the Government of Kosovo, Përparim Kryeziu, commenting on the news of the American television channel "Fox News", where it was said that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has requested the de facto recognition of Kosovo by Serbia in exchange for "autonomy" for the Serbs. , has said that the Kosovar executive has not accepted any autonomy.
"We have shown our readiness for maximum respect of the rights of every member of the communities, according to the standards of the Council of Europe", said Kryeziu for Radio Television of Kosovo, just a few hours after the call of the deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti , who requested the reaction of the Kosovar institutions.
"What we want to emphasize is that Kosovo has neither accepted nor agreed to any autonomy. We have shown our readiness for the maximum respect of the rights of every member of the communities, according to the standards of the Council of Europe", he said, while adding that they do not give anything more than what is foreseen by the Constitution of Kosovo.
Kryeziu has emphasized, among other things, that at the moment it is unclear whether the news on the American television channel refers to a direct quote of the president of the EC during the last visit to Kosovo and Serbia or it is only an interpretation of the prestigious American medium on the dynamics of dialogue process for the normalization of Kosovo-Serbia relations.
The field of great search for "answers" and "solution formula" is expected to continue in the coming days, while the issue of "autonomy" for Serbs is placed high on the list of foreign priorities of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in exchange for the de facto recognition of Kosovo by Serbia.
