Five killed in Canada, police: Terrible scene!

Five people were shot dead in a building in a Toronto suburb; the police then shot the perpetrator of the incident, leaving him dead on the spot.

According to foreign media, in the evening hours of the previous day, officers responded to a call for shots fired in a building in the area.

Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween said that when law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they were confronted with a "terrible" scene. One person was also injured and was taken to the hospital. He is in serious condition but is expected to survive.

Mass shootings are rare in Canada, and Toronto has proudly touted its status as "one of the safest cities in the world." MacSween said there were no details on whether the shooter was a resident of the building. The investigation has been taken over by Ontario's special unit, which is involved when there is a death or serious injury.

The identity of the author of the event has not yet been made public. The operatives evacuated the building, however they assured the community that for them, there was no further danger.
