Train crash, Iphigenia's partner: She was hanging from the window and I was

The partner of 23-year-old Ifigenia Mitska, who is among the victims of the railway accident in Greece, has spoken about the moments that followed after the train crash in Tempi.

As the young man told Star, he and the unfortunate 23-year-old woman were in carriage 3 of the Intercity 62 train and were returning from Athens, where they had been for three days last Monday.

"The windows were broken from the crash. Iphigenia was hanging from the window and I was holding her with all my strength. I was calling for help, at one point another child helped me, we took him down and took him to the first point, from where people were coming out", he said initially.

" We put him in the seat because he was heavy and I didn't want to hurt him and I went outside to call the fire department. I tried to go back, but they wouldn't let me and they took me to the ambulance. Since then I lost track of her. I asked and no one answered me", said the young man, who suffered minor burns from burning sheet metal" .

According to him, Iphigenia was unconscious and did not know how serious her condition was. The firemen told him they would take it upon themselves to get him out, but did not let him stay at the scene to see if they got him off the train.

His sister had spoken to him shortly before entering the train. Iphigenia told her what a great time she had had and she looked very happy.

She had also contacted their mother and told her to sleep because she would be back late and her partner's father would take her home. Unfortunately, Iphigenia was among those who never returned home...
