KFOR is reinforced, a Turkish battalion arrives in Kosovo

Turkey's Operational Reserve Forces (ORF) have arrived in Kosovo for a temporary deployment within the framework of the NATO peacekeeping mission, KFOR.

According to a KFOR announcement, the Turkish soldiers were received at the bases of this mission in Kosovo and will contribute to maintaining security and stability in the country.

In the coming months, the Turkish ORF Battalion will carry out a series of activities in cooperation with other KFOR units, being ready to respond to any development in the security situation in Kosovo, AA reports.

NATO believes that such reinforcements increase KFOR's operational flexibility and ability to respond in a timely manner to new security challenges.

On October 3, the outgoing KFOR commander, Enrico Barduani, will hand over his duties to Turkish commander Özkan Ulutaş in a ceremony to be held in Pristina.
