"For the KLA and the truth"/ Albanians will protest on March 1 in The
HAGUE

"For the KLA, truth and justice", there will be a protest on March 1 in The Hague, the Dutch city where the seat of the Special Court is located. The organization comes from Albanians of the diaspora, who on the day of the start of the trial against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, will demand justice and show their support for the former leaders of the KLA. The organizers of the protest call for the largest possible exit on this day, and not only Albanians from the diaspora, but also invite the citizens of Kosovo to join them in a peaceful protest.

Diaspora Albanians are expressing dissatisfaction with the processes taking place near the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo in The Hague. According to them, the former leaders of the KLA are facing a political process.

They do not oppose the court, but call on it to bring justice to the former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army who are being tried there.

A permit to organize the protest has already been secured by the Dutch authorities and citizens are expected to gather in the street "Laan van Reagan en Gorbachev", Den Haag, on Wednesday March 1 from 10:00 to 12:00.

"We started the protest in an organized way because of the dissatisfaction that this process has been going on for two years, it seems to us that the whole process has slipped into a political process and not into justice. Against the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army and against those who made the state of Kosovo, they contributed a lot to state building, in coordination with the international community, were the politicians who coordinated their work, mostly with internationals, for the development of Kosovo for integration in various international organizations, so that Kosovo is as organized as possible for the communities in Kosovo," says Raif Istogu, one of the organizers of the protest.

Istog, in a link to KosovaPress from Germany, says that they want to show the world that they are in support of the former members of the KLA.

"In no way did anyone think that the people of peace, who fought for the liberation of Kosovo today, would end up in detention in The Hague. This is the main issue why we organize. Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi and others are not only names, but also the glorious history of the Kosovo Liberation Army, they are not only the founders of the KLA, but also the fathers of the Kosovo state. the founders of the Republic of Kosovo, this is the main reason why today we are trying to organize a grand protest in The Hague, to show the whole world and give them our position that we are with the liberators," he adds.

He expects the March 1 protest to be grand, while confirming that it will be held at a location five minutes away from the institution of the Special Court in The Hague.

The indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selim regarding the allegation of war crimes was confirmed on October 26, 2020, while in their first appearances in the Specialized Chambers in The Hague, they pleaded not guilty.

On April 29, the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor submitted an amended indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, claiming that the accused committed war crimes in Gjilan, Budakovo and Semetish. /KosovaPress
