The famous drug cartel 'Sinaloa' has another leader and continues its activity strongly even though many thought that everything would end with the arrest of the son of 'El Chapo'.

His place has already been replaced by his wife, 30-year-old Adriana Meza Torres, already considered the new 'queen' of the Mexican cartel.

She is not only the daughter-in-law of the most notorious drug lords of recent years, but the daughter of one of the members of Sinaloa who was tortured and killed.

Her father was Raul Meza Ontiveros, known by the nom de guerre "El M6" with the Sinaloa cartel until he was killed in Culiacan in 2007. Her brother, César Raúl, known as "El Mini M6", met a similar fate , dying in a shootout at the age of 18.

Her husband, Ovidio Guzmán López, a son of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán, was caught up in a gunfight this month that killed 29 people, ten of them Mexican troops.

Meza Torres is flaunting her newfound power, calling herself the "boss's wife" on social media and demonstrating her wealth in a series of posts and videos on sites such as TikTok, foreign media reported. 

Her husband, Guzmán López, was arrested in the cartel's stronghold of Culiacan in eastern Mexico. Known as "El Ratón" or the rat, he is expected to be extradited to the US where he will face trial on a number of charges./ Latinpost
