The Trump Organization is found guilty of tax fraud

Two companies belonging to the Trump Organization, former President Donald Trump's group, have been found guilty by a court of criminal tax fraud and falsification of business records.

This scheme had lasted for 15 years by deceiving the tax authorities by not reporting and paying taxes on the compensation of senior executives.

The two companies Trump Corp. and Trump Payroll Corp. were found guilty of all the charges they faced.

Donald Trump and his family, who manage their own companies, were not charged in the case, but were cited several times by prosecutors for their connection to the benefits.

The Trump Organization could face a maximum fine of $1.61 million. The company is not in danger of breaking up, however, a felony conviction could affect the image.

This decision follows federal and state investigations into classified documents that Trump took with him after he left the White House in early 2021.

He is also facing a $250 million civil lawsuit from the New York Attorney General, alleging that he and his children are involved in a decade-long fraud.
