According to US officials who have reviewed intelligence reports, Iran has prepared missiles and other military equipment to attack American bases in the Middle East if the United States joins Israel in the war, the New York Times reports.

The United States has sent about three dozen refueling planes to Europe that could be used to support fighter jets protecting American bases or to extend the range of bombers involved in a possible attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Meanwhile, we recall that this afternoon, June 17, President Donald Trump, through a post on social media, claims that the United States has taken full control of the airspace over Iran.

Trump also said in a post, "We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is an easy target, but he is safe where he is. We will not eliminate (kill!), at least not for now. But we do not want missiles aimed at American civilians or soldiers. Our patience is running out. Thank you for your attention to this matter"!

Meanwhile, the White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump's meeting with the National Security Council, held in the Emergency Situations Room, has ended.

The meeting lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.

President Trump did not make any statement after the discussions concluded.

According to sources cited by CBS, the BBC's media partner in the US, Trump is seriously considering the possibility of the United States joining Israel in attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, including the Fordow facility.

The same sources emphasize that this issue was expected to be discussed during today's meeting at the White House, however, within Trump's close team of advisors there is still no full agreement on such an intervention.

The situation remains tense, while the decisions expected from Washington could have a direct impact on the further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
