The US State Department announced today the establishment of the Middle East Task Force, which will aim to provide information and assistance to American citizens who are in the tense region during this period.
State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce reiterated US President Donald Trump's message, saying that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons in any way.
She then provided guidance to American citizens who need assistance and suggested they not travel to Israel and Iraq, as well as not travel to Iran for any reason.
“Now, as the conflict between Israel and Iran continues, President Trump has been clear: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. The security of Americans is a priority, which is why we have established the Middle East Task Force. We have issued more than 30 advisories. We urge you not to travel to Israel or Iraq, and not to travel in any way to Iran. Get information and assistance from the State Department.
"It's a dynamic that is evolving very quickly. Our priority is the safety of every American at home and around the world, and that of the thousands of Americans who work anonymously in embassies around the world. We thank all those who work for the United States. We thank you and appreciate your work," said DASH spokeswoman Bruce.
