US President Donald Trump said yesterday evening that there would be no delay in imposing new tariffs on April 2, and that it was not a concern if automakers raised prices, according to NBC News.

In a phone interview that lasted more than 10 minutes, Trump also discussed his commitment to annexing Greenland and reiterated that the military option was part of the negotiating table.

After a week of heated debates over classified information shared on the Signal app, new tariffs and claims to take control of Greenland - the US president said his policy agenda had not caused instability on Wall Street or a drop in consumer confidence - pointing to a poll that showed the number of Americans who believe the country is on the right track was at record levels.

US President Donald Trump said it was not a concern for him if automakers raised prices after he announced he would impose new tariffs of 25% on all foreign-made automobiles.

Asked what his final message was to auto industry CEOs and whether he had warned them about the risk of price increases, Trump said: "The message is congratulations, if you sell your car in the United States, you're going to make a lot of money - because there are no tariffs in the United States of America."

Trump also said yesterday that he had "absolutely" had real conversations about annexing Greenland, which is currently a semi-autonomous Danish territory.

"We will take Greenland. Yes, 100%," Trump stressed.

"There's a good chance we can do it without military force," he said.

Trump's statement comes a day after Vice President JD Vance visited Greenland with his wife, Usha, and met with service members at Pituffik Spaceport, a U.S. Space Force base on the northwest coast of Greenland.

"Our message to Denmark is very simple - you have not done a good job of the people of Greenland," Vance said while visiting the Pituffik space base.

Asked what message buying Greenland would send to Russia and the rest of the world, Trump said: "I don't really think about it. I don't really care. Greenland is a very special, very different subject. It's international peace. It's international security and strength."

"You have ships sailing out of Greenland from Russia, from China and from many other countries. And we will not allow things to happen that would harm the world or the United States of America," he added.
