Israeli media: The Hague is preparing an arrest warrant for Netanyahu

An international arrest warrant may be issued against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by the International Criminal Court. The Israeli media informs that the local government has information that the judges dealing with the lawsuit filed last December by South Africa, against Israel for genocide in Gaza, are preparing arrest warrants for some Israeli officials, including the prime minister.

Currently, this court must investigate whether the Israeli army has committed war crimes in the Gaza Strip, in the attack launched on October 7 against Hamas.

Netanyahu is also facing protests demanding his resignation and the holding of new elections. Protesters say his government has failed to free about 130 hostages still held by Hamas. Among them there are also voices demanding the end of the war in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Egypt and Qatar are making new efforts for a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Hamas and Israel have been sent a new proposal that is currently being examined by the parties, while they have also been sent invitations for a meeting in Cairo. As the Israeli army prepares for the final ground assault on Rafah, Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas has made a direct appeal to Washington not to allow it.
