Killed his wife, the Greek pilot is sentenced to life imprisonment

Greek justice has sentenced Babis Anagnostopoulos, 33, to life in prison for killing his wife in Glyka Nera on May 11 last year.

Life imprisonment and the addition of 11 years and 6 months is the final sentence imposed by the Athens Court on Babis Anagnostopoulos for the murder of Caroline, the murder of the dog and the other two criminal offenses of false testimony and false denunciation.

According to Greek media, Babis also received a fine of 21 thousand euros.

The court did not consider any mitigating circumstances and unanimously rejected his attempt to present the murder as a "crime of passion" in a state of anger after a quarrel that had "disturbed" the senses, a fact that could have resulted in a reduced sentence.
