Britain's Queen Camilla is unwell with a chest infection and has pulled out of engagements this week, Buckingham Palace has announced.
A palace spokesman said Camilla's doctors "have advised a short period of rest" adding that "it is with great regret that Her Majesty has had to withdraw from her engagements for this week".
They added that the Queen "very much hopes to recover in time to participate normally in this weekend's Remembrance events".
"She apologizes to anyone who may have been inconvenienced or disappointed as a result," they said.
It is learned that the queen is currently resting at home and is under the supervision of a doctor.
Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester, has stepped in on Camilla's behalf to attend the annual opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday.
The Queen has also pulled out of a reception at Buckingham Palace for Olympic and Paralympic athletes hosted by the King on the same evening.
