An election worker in Georgia, USA, has been arrested after writing a letter threatening to kill his colleagues. 25-year-old Nicholas Wimbish was working as a poll worker at the Jones County Elections Office in Gray, Georgia, on October 16, when he ran into a voter.
The next day, Wimbish sent a letter to the county supervisor of elections claiming it was from the voter he bumped into. At the end of the letter, he also mentioned the bomb threat.
The 25-year-old was charged with sending a bomb threat, passing on false information about a bomb threat, mailing a threatening letter and making false statements to the FBI, prosecutors said.
Georgia is one of seven contested states expected to decide the outcome of Tuesday's presidential election between former Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
