Over 200 Italian soldiers land in Kosovo, ready to provide security during

KFOR, through a press release, announced that the mission in Kosovo has been reinforced with 200 additional forces that have landed from Italy today.

These are soldiers from the Italian mechanized infantry brigade "Sassari", who will carry out a large number of activities and, together with other KFOR troops, will be deployed and will respond to any significant development in the security situation, including during the election period.

"KFOR continues to implement its long-standing UN mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – by contributing to a peaceful and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, at all times and in an impartial manner, in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in accordance with their respective roles as security responders," the statement said.
