The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has received strong support from the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe in the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the United States of America, Republican Congressman Keith Self.
"I want to underscore the extremely strong and bipartisan confidence of the United States Congress in your leadership as President of the Republic of Kosovo," Congressman Self wrote in the letter of support.
Emphasizing the crucial moment that Kosovo is going through, he gave full support for the continuity of this vision of the President, emphasizing that "your vision and unwavering commitment to democratic values provide stability, continuity and clear strategic direction at a crucial moment for Kosovo and the region."
In this high-level message, it is clearly reconfirmed that under the leadership of President Osmani, Kosovo's institutions will continue to protect democratic norms, constitutional principles and the rule of law, essential elements for the consolidation of the state and the strengthening of international partnerships.
The letter also emphasizes that the United States remains steadfast in its support for Kosovo's long-term strategic and economic objectives, with particular emphasis on encouraging NATO membership and strengthening the Euro-Atlantic partnership as key pillars for sustainable stability and prosperity in the Balkans, objectives for which the President has worked throughout her mandate.
Vjosa Osmani is in the final weeks of her term as president of the Republic of Kosovo and is seeking a second term from the political class there.
It remains in the hands of Albin Kurti, as he has the votes for her re-election or not.
So far, Kurti has not spoken.
