The survivor of the massacre, Aziz Beqiri lives with the memories and the terrible images of the murdered and massacred bodies.

In an interview for KosovaPress, he recounts the morning of January 15, the day when more than 40 civilians were killed.

" They have removed your heart and lungs", he says while telling how he saw the bodies of children, women, and the elderly in "Kodra e Bebushi ".

He remembers the morning of January 15 and says that what his eyes have seen is a horror.

" January 15th was a great horror for our village, an unprecedented massacre took place and even before this date they tried to provoke us and tried to enter, injured civilians, but on January 15th they killed 44 civilians. Around 06:45 they surrounded us, they have a truce after it was Ramadan and three days before Eid, this happened on the big night.

They killed in every neighborhood and these 29 (persons) entered a house, took them, put them in the yard and used physical violence against them, molested them and then told you to get out because the KLA will save you. When they surrounded us, they entered the police station on one side and entered every neighborhood using violence, we have people who took out your heart and lungs ", he says.

That same day, Azizi emphasizes that they did not know exactly how many were killed in Reçak and together with the other survivors had gone to the mountain. He recounts how he saw the slaughtered bodies.

" However, on the first day we reported 17 killed and 13 injured as kidnapped, because we were not aware of what had happened, there was no evidence of what happened, everyone had taken shelter in places to escape. Then, on the 16th (January) we went out to look on the mountain to make sure there were no injuries, no one needed help, so there were about five of us who went out to look at the terrain, and when we went out a friend of mine was in front of me and I told him if you meet with them let me know, as we were tired and I was afraid that I was going crazy. He called me and I asked him if there was anything and he told me that they killed everyone here.

Kur jemi dalë të xhamia, një dron vëzhgues dhe tha a po dini në Reçak se si është gjendja, sepse edhe para se me ndodh kjo ne kemi pas takime me vëzhgues çdo ditë, sa ka popullate e sa po tërhiqen dhe ja tregova gjendjen, pasi e kërkoi… Gjithë ditën ka pas vëzhgues, gazetarë e diplomantë. Më pas erdh një pëlqim një katund që t’i tubojmë kufomat në xhami me 16 dhe t’i varrosim me datën 17 dhe kërkuam ndihma Petrovën, dhe na ndihmuan, gjithë natën i kemi mbuluar me nga një peshqir për t’i varrosur me 17”, shton ai.

Ai kërkon drejtësi për të gjithë banorët e fshatit, të cilën u vranë mizorisht 24 vjet më parë.
