The US launched a new wave of powerful attacks against Iran, while the NATO summit is being held in Ankara, which began on Tuesday. This morning, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte was asked about the attacks carried out by Washington during the night.
He says they were "absolutely necessary," while accusing Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement. "I think it's absolutely essential that the US responds forcefully," he adds.
During this summit, European leaders aim to convince Donald Trump to re-commit to the military alliance, after the US president revived his disagreements with them over the Iran war and Greenland.
Rutte said there can be no doubt about the "full commitment of the United States to NATO," which, according to him, also works to protect the United States.
