The Minister of Culture in Italy, Gennaro Sangiuliano and his wife Maria Rosaria Boccia

The Minister of Culture in Italy, Gennaro Sangiuliano , has faced a wave of criticism after it became known that he had an extramarital affair with a well-known character in social networks, Maria Rosaria Boccia .

Boccia published several documents where she claims to have served as an adviser to the minister and participated in several business trips with him.

Sangiuliano, in a televised interview, denied that Boccia was employed by the ministry, but admitted that he had a personal relationship with her.

He also clarified that all travel expenses with Boccia were covered by his personal money and not by ministry funds.

In an emotional statement, the minister publicly apologized to his family for the pain and difficulties they are going through due to the situation and media pressure.

Furthermore, Sangiuliano submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni , but she refused to accept it.
