The new York Times has written about religious conversions taking place in Kosovo, from Muslims to Catholics. The American newspaper has offered different perspectives on this topic that has sparked reactions and debate in Kosovo, speaking with religious leaders, historians and citizens in Kosovo.
On this issue, the American newspaper conducted an interview in Pristina and with kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Kurti told the NYT that for Albanian identity, religion was never of first importance. Kurti added that for Albanians, religions have come and gone, but albanian people have remained here.
"For us, the religions came and went, but we are still here." For Albanians, in terms of identity, religion was never of first importance," Kurti said.
