The Ministry of Interior of Kosovo announced yesterday afternoon the arrest and declaration of non-grata for 5 years of the Russian journalist Daria Aslamova, whom they accuse of being a Russian spy whose aim is to destabilize the North of the country.
But it seems that this decision of the official Pristina has not satisfied the former US emissary at the time of President Donald Trump on the issue of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Richard Grenell, who has recently been seen in a frontal attack against the government directed by Albin Kurti.
Recently on Twitter, Grenell has criticized the government's decision to arrest Aslamova, who, it must be said, has strong military connections in the FSB, and has even been photographed next to the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov.
Grenell has considered her detention in the North as a terrible precedent, which according to him could cause other countries to ban Kosovar officials from entering their country.
“ While you have every right to deport pro-Russian individuals (or anyone) you don't like, you are also setting a precedent for other governments to ban Kosovo officials they don't like…. It's a terrible precedent, " Grenell wrote.
"So is the rejection of Serbian stickers on license plates", he added, reaffirming his position against any type of reciprocity measure with Serbia that Kosovo intends to establish.
Earlier, the Minister of the Interior, Xelal Sveçla, wrote that the arrest of Aslamova, who today announced that he has declared "non grata" by banning her from entering Kosovo for 5 years, is "direct interference of Russia in the north of Kosovo".
