Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti reacted to the threats of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who announced that today at 6:00 pm he will announce his intentions regarding Kosovo.
Serbian media have suggested that one of Vucic's plans is to occupy Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo.
But Prime Minister Kurti says Vucic's threats come in coordination with Russia and at a time when Serbia today still "sleeps on mass graves from the genocide committed in Kosovo."
Kurti says Kosovo is not afraid of these threats and that today it is stronger than ever.
The full response from Kurt:
Vucic, in coordination with Russia, over mass graves, is preparing new threats and ultimatums against Kosovo
25 years after the genocide in Kosovo, with 186 massacres, about 500 mass graves in Kosovo, 5 mass graves in Serbia, where over 13,000 people (1392 children; 1739 women; 1882 elderly), about 20,000 women and girls raped and abused, tens of thousands of persecuted citizens, over 860,000 expelled from Kosovo and hundreds of thousands more from the mountains watched as their houses were looted and burned (a total of 119,855 (1595) and still 1595 violently missing persons, hundreds of families living with anxiety and pain, while keeping hidden information about the whereabouts of at least 11 mass graves within its territory, Serbia headed by Milosevic's minister, in cooperation with Russia, is preparing new threats and ultimatums towards Kosovo.
Serbia sleeps on mass graves from genocide committed in Kosovo. 950 unarmed civilians were massacred, snatched and put into mass graves in Serbia, including refrigerated trucks that emerged from the bottom of lakes there. Evidence of genocide is fresh throughout Kosovo and Serbia, but that is not stopping the President of Serbia from threatening again.
Instead of Serbia:
▪️Repentance is a sin, and repents of sin and repentance.
▪️to open the archives of the yugoslav police and army war, especially the 37th motorized brigade;
▪️to pay the compensation;
▪️to co-operate to establish justice for victims of genocide;
▪️To engage in reconciliation and peace by reflecting on his responsibility;
It has chosen the opposite side, repeating threats and ultimatums, to Kosovo and its citizens, in close cooperation and coordination with Russia. The macabre crimes that Serbia committed 25 years ago in Kosovo are being repeated by Russia in Ukraine today and are being aimed at returning to the Balkan region.
The approach of power in Serbia to Kosovo is extremely depressing. Initially, impunity and propaganda campaigns were normalized. And now they are aiming to normalize paramilitary and terrorist attacks (Banjska, 24 September 2023), threats and ultimatums, which are justified by false news and disinformation campaigns, before the eyes of the democratic world.
Today, Kosovo is stronger than ever before, not afraid of threats. We protect all our citizens and their freedoms and rights, the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of our country, the democratic and socio-economic progress of our people and institutions. However, what is happening now shows how far Serbia is from democratic and human values and how embedded it remains with the genocide committed in the 1990s.
