The 5.8-magnitude earthquake was also felt strongly in Turkey, as residents were awakened from their sleep at around 2 a.m.

While Greece reported no human injuries, in Turkey the toll is tragic.

A 14-year-old girl, Sabah reports, lost her life as a result of a panic attack during the earthquake, while 69 people were injured after jumping from a height out of fear.

The tremors were extremely strong, with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale, and were felt mainly in Mugla, Izmir, Antalya, Aydın, Denizli and Manisa.

"During the earthquake in Fethiye, our 14-year-old girl Afranur Günlü was taken to the hospital due to a panic attack, but unfortunately she lost her life despite all interventions. In Muğla and its districts, 14 out of 69 of our citizens who jumped from heights due to panic were treated in the hospital. I wish health to our citizens affected by the earthquake. May God protect our country and nation from disasters," said Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
