After making a threatening post about Meloni's daughter, the 65-year-old

Italian professor Stefano Andeo, who caused a stir after publishing an online message against the daughter of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, attempted suicide.

Italian media reports that the 65-year-old was rushed to the Nola hospital after attempting to end his life. 

According to information, Addeo had taken a mixture of drugs and alcohol, losing consciousness immediately afterwards.

He was taken to the emergency room in critical condition and with a code red.

For the moment, although he remains under strict medical observation, his life is not in danger.

Italian media also write that the carabinieri intervened to collect useful elements for reconstructing what happened.

Yesterday, Andeo, a professor of German, publicly expressed his desire to meet with Giorgia Meloni,  "to hug her and apologize"  for what he had written.
