The Greek media have revealed the testimony of the 29-year-old woman who threw her 11-month-old baby into the dam of a reservoir on New Year's Eve.

She is accused of intentionally killing her baby. But the performed autopsy shows that the baby died from suffocation.

The young woman continues to deny the crime, as she tried to justify herself. She said that she did not leave the child in the river, but that it had fallen from her arms.

"I didn't kill the child, he moved a lot while I was holding him in my arms and fell into the water. I couldn't jump into the water to pull him out. They accuse me of things I didn't do. I loved my daughter very much", she reportedly told the police.

He is expected to maintain the same attitude tomorrow morning when he will appear before the investigation in the North Court. The next day the baby would have a birthday and turn one year old.

Greek media reports that the woman allegedly took a taxi from the village of Stavros Imathias on December 31, with the baby in her arms, and headed for the place where she dumped him in the river. She then left for Alexandria and stayed at a hotel, where she spent New Year's Eve and returned home at dawn where she lived with her baby, grandmother and grandfather.
