The Egypt-Gaza border opens, Israel will allow the entry of 20 food trucks

Egypt-Gaza border opens

The border crossing between Egypt and Gaza opened on Saturday, allowing the delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid to Palestinians who have run out of food, medicine and water in their territory besieged by Israel.

More than 200 trucks filled with about 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid have been stationed for several days near the border crossing, waiting to enter Gaza.

Vehicles are starting to approach the gates on the Egyptian side.

Israel has agreed to allow about 20 trucks carrying food, water and medicine, but not fuel, into Gaza through the southern crossing from Egypt.

It is unclear how long the crossing will remain open.
