The miners of Trepca are spending the sixth day of the hunger strike. Lined up one after the other, despite their deteriorating health, they are not giving up their resistance.

According to the media in Kosovo, the strike has entered its sixth day.

"The health condition is very serious, today a total of 9 miners have sought medical help, 4 of them are in a serious health condition", declared the Chairman of the Miners' Union, Ibrahim Jonuzi.

He emphasized that despite this situation, the strike is continuing and will continue until the miners' demands are met.

The miners are demanding the realization of the monthly salary on time, the provision of working conditions and the dismissal of the management group.

Meanwhile, the United Mine Workers of America wrote a letter to Prime Minister Albin Kurti about the Trepca miners' strike, where they demand a solution as soon as possible.

 " For the past 133 years we have defended the rights of miners in the United States and Canada and have always stood in solidarity with our brother and sister unions around the globe. We proudly support our 710 Kosovar brothers and sisters of the Miners of the Independent Trade Union of TREPÇE who are on hunger strike in TREPÇE KOSOVO since October 24, 2023", the letter says .
