Grand Hotel Prishtinë

The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, has announced that "Grand Hotel Prishtina" remains owned by Kosovo and the citizens.

Through a facebook post, the Minister wrote that the Republic of Kosovo, according to the Decision of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, has found that there is no premise, evidence or theory that would enable Behgjet Pacolli ownership over Grand.

"The only thing that the Republic of Kosovo is obliged to do is to return the monetary value that Pacolli had given to the KPA in the name of privatization. Although he was not party to the procedure, the KPA had accepted his means. We are now obliged to return it," she wrote.

Among other things, Haxhiu wrote that "we do not allow ownership over public property to anyone."

"Because of the 20-year-old poverty in state institutions, we still pay consequences. But these are the last ones. We don't allow ownership of public property to anyone. "The Grandiose remains of Kosovo and its citizens."

The Grand Hotel was inaugurated on 25 April 1978. It has an area of approximately 32,000 m2. The hotel is equipped with other facilities: restaurant, tavern, cafe bar, night bar and conference hall.

Currently, various businesses operate in the Grand Hotel premises, ranging from media houses, offices for various legal services, accounting, foreign organizations, banking apparatus, advertising spaces and others.

In the 1970s, the Grand Hotel was known as one of the largest hotels in the former Yugoslavia.
