The grandson deceives the grandmother and "extorts" 20 thousand euros. The unusual event happened in Greece.
An elderly woman has fallen prey to a scam in Patra after a man called her claiming to be her nephew. According to the Greek media, the elderly woman's "nephew" called her and asked for help after killing an Albanian child.
"Grandma, I killed a child from Albania, the police are holding me and to let me go you have to pay money," the person told her.
The 85-year-old woman, frightened by her "nephew's" request, immediately went to the bank and withdrew 20,000 euros. She then left them in a rubbish bin on Thermopylon Street in Patras, as instructed by the man who called her.
The woman followed the requests precisely because she wanted to save her grandson. The incident that happened on Wednesday was reported yesterday to the Patra Police, where a case of fraud with unknown perpetrators was filed.
