The possibility of a face-to-face meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky seems closer than ever, following Donald Trump's meeting with the Ukrainian president and European leaders.

Although the meeting has not yet been confirmed, discussions have begun about the city that could host it.

French President Emmanuel Macron proposed Geneva as the meeting venue, arguing that such a meeting should take place on “neutral territory.” “I, of course, support Geneva,” Macron said.

The same position was expressed by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani: "Geneva could be the most appropriate place. Italy supports this solution."

According to Sky News, Russia also seems to prefer Geneva.

However, Trump and Zelensky appear more inclined to hold the meeting in Rome. Sky News reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Vice President JD Vance have also spoken out in favor of Rome.

European diplomats, quoted by British media, say that "we are still evaluating several possible locations."

Earlier, Reuters reported that a Putin-Zelensky meeting could also take place in Hungary, based on information from a US official.
