Greek police have managed to uncover the theft of 4 million euros from a bank after 17 years. The incident took place in 2008 at a bank branch in Kifisia, near Athens.
As a result, two citizens from Kosovo have been declared wanted, more specifically Basri Berisha alias Basri Ramadani, 53 years old, and Sinan Beqiroski alias Sinan Bekjiroski, 54 years old.
Regarding the chronology of the theft, unknown persons, after breaking a window, entered the bank and removed money and valuables from the central safe, the value of which exceeded 4,000,000 euros.
The 53-year-old Ramadani is currently being held in a detention center in France, and has been in custody by German and Kosovo authorities for similar offenses.
Subsequent comparative analyses conducted by the staff of the Criminal Investigation Department revealed that Berisha was also involved in an attempted robbery in 2009 at a bank branch in Athens, as well as in the theft of a safe and the theft of an ATM in 2010 at a supermarket in Crete.
