Regardless of how the war in Ukraine ends, Europe and the United States will be dealing with a stronger and angrier Russia for years to come. This is what the Supreme Commander of the NATO Allies for Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, said.
In his reaction from Paris, where he was present during the exhibition of new international weapons, Cavoli said that the defeat of Russia in Ukraine is important, but the senior general emphasizes that in the near future we will face a Russia which there is an army that rebuilds faster than we imagined.
"Russia's defeat in Ukraine is extremely important, but regardless of how this ends on the far side of the conflict, we will find a Russia that has a military that is rebuilding much faster than we imagined. So we're going to have a big problem with Russia for years to come, and I think we have to prepare for that," Cavoli said.
Of concern to Cavoli is the fact that Russia is creating strong and consolidated alliances with North Korea and Iran, two of the sworn enemies of the United States of America.
And Russia is not alone, he noted, also analyzing Vladimir Putin's recent visit to Pyongyang and Vietnam.
Thus, the Russian army has carried out a "massive" attack on the energy infrastructure in western and southern Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy.
"Several plants in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv regions were damaged," added the minister, specifying that two employees were injured and taken to hospital. Meanwhile, another problem has appeared for the Ukrainians. The American media, Washington Post, reports the complaint of Ukrainian officials, since the US has not allowed them to hit more than 100 km from the Russian border with American weapons.
US officials declined to specify the limit, but said the Ukrainian claim of less than 100 kilometers was incorrect.
