DAY 2/ American General Clark begins testimony in defense of Thaçi in The
Wesley Clark

Wesley Clark, the last defense witness for former President Hashim Thaçi, is testifying this week in the trial of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Clark yesterday unveiled the plan he had drawn up for NATO's air campaign.

"First I had to get permission to draft a NATO plan, and it was clear that many US assets and voices would be part of this plan. It started with an idea that would demonstrate the competence and power of the US to continue with the attacks on Serbia and there was a kind of development that if this purge continued further then we would continue with the bombing campaign in Kosovo and if Milosevic did not comply then we would continue with the bombing in Serbia, and if that did not work either we had the option of going by land," he said.

In an interview with KosovaPress given in 2021, General Clark said that he is proud of the people of Kosovo who fought for their freedom and insisted on creating a democratic government.

He also recounted the initiative of NATO's campaign to intervene in the war that Serbia was waging in Kosovo. Clark also spoke about whether an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is possible.

Wesley Clark is a retired American general who is now a name in the history of humanitarian warfare. He led NATO bombing of Yugoslav military and police units, which resulted in the capitulation of former dictator Slobodan Milosevic, who was forced to sign a military technical agreement in Kumanovo to allow NATO peacekeepers to enter Kosovo. General Clark is considered a hero by the people of Kosovo.
