Italy is facing flooding due to bad weather. Two people are missing since Monday morning due to storms and flooding in Brazzano, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in northeastern Italy.
Local media report that the missing are a 35-year-old man and an elderly woman, who were allegedly swept away by the waters and mud after a building partially collapsed in Brazzano. The 35-year-old tried to help the elderly woman, but was swept away with her.
Civil Protection and firefighters are trying to find the two missing people, but their task is being hampered by the amount of mud and debris that has blocked the area. In the city of Gorizia, near the border with Slovenia, commercial businesses and single-storey houses have been flooded, causing major financial damage.
Many schools have been closed and many roads have been flooded. This has caused many citizens to face problems in their movements.
