A 9-year-old boy in Syria has been sentenced to prison for 9 days, after, according to the authorities, he insulted the image of the president, Bashar Assad .

Little Muhammad al Ali was caught writing on one of Assad's photos, present at his school.

According to foreign media, after being called and raped by the director of the institute, the 9-year-old, who is in the fourth grade, was detained by the agents of the Political Security, this agency for the control and repression of the Syrian government.

This was announced by the National Observatory for Human Rights in Syria, confirming what was reported by local media in Homs.

"For ten days, the child has been locked in a cell at the headquarters of Political Security in the city of Homs, and every day the parents demand his immediate release," the Observatory reports.
