France's Britain blocks Roman Abramovich's euro assets

Roman Abramovich has taken another strong blow to his finances because of The West's sanctions imposed on people considered close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, following military intervention in Ukraine.

British authorities have seized billions of euros worth of Roman Abramovich's assets. The Russian oligarch was frozen 6.4 billion euros worth of seats on the island of Jersey on the Canal de La Manshi.

In a coordinated operation, French authorities have also blocked a villa located on the French riviera.

The villa called "Château de la Croâ" once belonged to the Duke and Duke of Windsor and is located in the most prestigious area of the French Riviera. It was built in 1926 and after reconstruction carried out by Abramovich it is thought to reach a value of 90m euros.

According to the Financial Times, the Russian businessman has met twice in Kiev with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who weeks ago called on the West to lift sanctions on the former Chelsea owner so that he can facilitate peace talks with the Kremlin.
